Enhanced superplasticity in commercially pure titanium alloy
The superplasticity of commercially pure titanium alloy at high temperature was studied and the dynamic recrystallization phenomenon of the alloy was investigated by using electron back scattered diffraction. A two-step deformation method was used to increase the ductility of the alloy from 188% to 243%. 2004 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
متن کاملSolid-State Diffusion Bonding of Commercially pure Titanium and Precipitation Hardening Stainless steel
Solid-state direct diffusion bonding of commercially pure Titanium (Cp-Ti) and precipitation hardening stainless steel (PHSS) has been carried out in the temperature range of 800°C to 1000°C with an interval of 50°C for 3.6 ks under 3.5 Mpa uniaxial load in (4 to 6)×10 Pa vacuum. The effects of temperatures have been investigated with reference to bond strength. The examination revealed that th...
متن کاملTensile and flexural strength of commercially pure titanium submitted to laser and tungsten inert gas welds.
This study evaluated the tensile and flexural strength of tungsten inert gas (TIG) welds in specimens made of commercially pure titanium (CP Ti) compared with laser welds. Sixty cylindrical specimens (2 mm diameter x 55 mm thick) were randomly assigned to 3 groups for each test (n=10): no welding (control), TIG welding (10 V, 36 A, 8 s) and Nd:YAG laser welding (380 V, 8 ms). The specimens were...
متن کاملDental implant materials: commercially pure titanium and titanium alloys.
Manufacturers use six different titanium-based biomaterials to fabricate dental implants. Each of these materials, including four grades of commercially pure titanium and two titanium alloys, has distinct mechanical and physical properties. Clinicians should recognize these differences for optimal treatment planning and patient care.
متن کاملINVESTIGATION ON THE EFFECTS OF MAGNETIC FIELD ON BROMIDE-INDUCED PITTING OF COMMERCIALLY PURE TITANIUM
Abstract: In chloride salt solutions, titanium alloys exhibit reasonably high pitting potentials as high as +10 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) at room temperatures. On the other hand, anodic pitting potentials are significantly lower in bromide solutions. In this study, pitting corrosion of commercially pure titanium in aqueous NaBr solution of 0.1 M concentration at room temperature was studied and the e...
